[ge-talk] Feedback on R2 Deskbar Mockup

It looks about a million times nicer. I suppose it doesn't show a
lot/enough maturity on my part, but I can actually picture that on my
desktop, compared to the paint only version.

I think that it needs some thought as to the indication of running vs not
vs crashed. In this latest demo, I see BeMail (no border),
Workspaces/People (with a border) and StyledEdit (light grey with border).
It is not intuitive which indicator is which.

One thing to consider is "drawers" - icons that represent multiple apps. I
used to have this setup running with LiteStep (
http://www.kenjin.net/images/litestep/screenshot_wood.jpg ) although that
theme is different than the one that I used. The "drawers" function a lot
like folders do in the Be menu... I had Internet, Office, System, for
example. It was nice because it was, literally, 2 clicks to any application
in the system.

By the way - LiteStep is probably the most theme happy tool out there, and
every time I look at it, it reminds me why themes are a bad idea. ;D

Another thing to consider is what makes the clock so special? I mean - just
because Microsoft chose to put one in there, and Be chose to copy it
doesn't mean that it is a good choice. I was thinking that you could have
the toolbar act as a BShelf for any replicant that wanted a X x Y space.
Clock could be one, but so could a hundred other apps.
