It's relatively easy to make an OS that has a few icons. ok mom here's 
your email and browser!  But I doubt this "mom" will install a new OS.
(note: my mom probably knows more SQL than most linux users so she's a 
bit atypical mom)

The real problem is making an OS that's easier to deal with lots of apps 
and lots of files and lots of tasks.
