Hi,

You can already do that (sort of), at least with email, using People 
files' Groups attribute and a query.

BeMail will show you people under the any particular group as a single 
entry in the To/CC/Bcc address list, allowing you to send an email to 
the group w/o having to enter individual email addresses. I believe 
there is also an add-on that will allow you to send email to the group 
by just right-clicking on the saved query.

Sort of a poorman's mailing list. :-)
