1 team can also make an OS which would have simple, regular or advanced
modes.
That's one way of making everyone happy without forcing a split into a
"gnome" camp and a "kde" camp.

For the trash, you could make a special folder ~/trash, have a shell
> script for remove wich would not delete but move to trash:)


and would that be unified with the trash on the desktop? you'd end up with
some stuff in desktop trash and some stuff in ~/trash
