That particular function of UniversalScroller is more of a hack in my
opinion. What would be more likely to be implemented would be a
"Single click to open" option on Tracker (like on Windows.) I'm
surprised this doesn't already exist (maybe it does?)
Anyhow, are there other cases besides Tracker where you have to use a
double-click but would prefer a single-click?
If this was implemented I would also like to see a nice hover
indicator that shows what is currently under the cursor and would be
activated on click. Such as a subtle icon highlighting and/or a text
underlining (like one can see on links on web-pages sometimes.)
If proper hover indication was implemented I would find this a good
feature and would probably use it. As a reference I just tested the
GNOME file browser (Nautilus) and it allows the single-click option to
be turned on and it activates hover underlining just like I suggested
above.
