Hi,
not shure if this list is still active.
Just want to share some thought i had, about mulituser.
It could be a good way to realize the whole system on base of image
files.
one imagefile for the whole system wich is mounted read only
(so that it can´t modified easy [virus, hacker etc])
Systemupdate just need to replace the image file
.....
Then one image for each user.
so that you can "switch" between user (x to y) just with unmounting
the old imagefile (from user x) and mounting the imagefile from user y.
But you also can logged in in as two useres (just mount image file x
and image file y)
Maybe there should be a rules like
... you only have rw acces to your "main" logined file. So every other
account you log in are
only mounted with read acces
So installation of apps for every user are just copies to there
mounted image.
Of course there could be one main (or shared) image file for all the
apps wich are share between all users.
the Images should have all the same diretory struckture wich could
eventually "mapped" to the "real" system
so that the content of the application folder of the "main image file"
and the content of the application folder of the "user x image file"
all mapped to /boot/apps or so
So that it is not to complicated for "Normal" User
He just sees only eg. one app folder wich contains everything... the
systems manges throught the owner to wich images the data belongs
hopefully you understand this a little ;-)
god bless
